The U.S. Postal Service confirmed to CPR News on Friday that guards have been deployed to Denver and other “key facilities” throughout the country to augment existing career Postal Police officers.
“They are deployed to provide security and act as a deterrent to criminals or employees who may wish to compromise the mailstream or potentially harm the people inside.”

This is a decision that any right minded person would have no issues with. Support it, even.

For some reason a few weeks ago, a feed of US Postal Service employees popped up on my Facebook feed. I learned that one of the “tests” that Postal police/inspectors do with some employees is to put money in mailboxes to see if any employees take the bait. Employees filled the feed of this group with a picture of the money and post “Not today Mr. Postal Inspector.”
From that feed I learned that postal employees are limited in what they can receive from customers in the form of gifts and tips.
