Just doing some ballpark numbers here. The chart says that 8.6% of the white population in America receives food stamps. That is approximately 16,200,000 people. The chart says that 45.6% of the Afghan immigrants in America receive food stamps. The total Afghan immigrant population is 132,500, meaning that (according to the chart) approximately 60,420 receive food stamps. This particular immigrant population is here mostly because they risked their lives assisting US troops when they were in Afghanistan. So 16,200,000 white people versus 60,420 Afghans. And according to the way the chart presents the data, the Afghan group is at the top of the list and the white population is almost at the bottom. The white population on food stamps is 268 times larger than the Afghan population.

The dumbest fricking thing about this liberal argument is that it really doesn't matter. There are too many people on SNAP benefits, period.
Also, if OP stat is true, 1 in 4 black people are on SNAP is fricking absurd, ridiculous, and embarrassing. Absolutely unacceptable. If Jesse Waters did a man on the street interview and asked me the percentage of black people on SNAP, I would have said 1 in ten.

There is no source.
Some of the numbers look accurate but others look completely made up. Afghans for example. From 2016-2019 Trump let in a lot of Afghans. As they were refugees many could qualify for food stamps. The result was a big spike in Afghan's getting SNAP, but the number was 35% not 45.6%.

Agreed.
The system is too easy to qualify, too easy to game.
When my daughter was young, I watched one of her low income friends after school- the mother tried to give me tips and advice on how to get different kinds of assistance and looked at me crazy that I didn't care to GET assistance.
The attitude- white AND black- is why not?
Had a separate friend who's kids got free/reduced lunch- didn't need it but it was super easy to qualify... the mom justified it by saying at least she doesn't have to pack lunches. I was stunned at the lack of shame.
The elementary school my kids went to was Title One... they actually got pissy that I refused to fill out the free/reduced meal application. I said we wouldn't qualify, they pressed us to try because it's that easy to qualify... and it benefits positively the school to have as many kids as possible on that program.

Anyone concerned about the political impact of a decision regarding food stamps should be more attuned to the fact that more than 16 million white voters are about to lose their benefits. White voters tend to vote at higher numbers in every election. Wouldn't a politician making a policy decision about food stamps be more concerned about 16 million white voters than 60,000 Afghans who likely can't even vote?

Policy decisions?
Well, Afghanis obviously are having a hard time assimilating and fending for themselves. This could be studied and remedies proffered.
Are they too spread out making intercommunity support difficult? Are they too heavily grouped making assimilation difficult? Do they need mandatory English classes and skill training to be able to work?
