Don’t care, why do you? Are you seriously trying to suggest the US is dropping land mines to arbitrarily kill Iranian civilians? That’s pretty much the implication you and the article are making when the US could easily bomb civilian targets and kill far more people than land mines

As I understand it he was just innocently plastering the entirety of the article into the OP because there was a sentence in it that sited Bellingcat as a source. And since he had no idea who Bellingcat was he thought he’d get some more information here by asking, while posting the entirety of the article implying exactly what you speak to.
All just innocent. Influencers get posted here all the time.

Why would the US do this? There is no land invasion coming with a few thousand troops.

Keep reading the thread and stop making assumptions about my position. This thread is about Bellingcat and if they’re credible as a news source. One response so far has addressed that question. Anyone that wants to answer it is encouraged to do so if you’re able. I have no idea if this is report is true or not but CBS has picked it up and that gives a little bit of weight to it as other major news outlets may now do the same.

I think there is a lot of spin from our side and theirs regarding this war. Like I said earlier, if Iran has figured out a way to reproduce these they’ll make use of them for propaganda purposes. But I won’t rule out our making a mistake. Humans in a high stress & fatigued situation will do that.

I’m glad you also found them to be the left as I did once I went to their website. Thanks, bud.

I don’t have any input other than that Bellingcat is credible.

The amount of soy from that team is incredible

Ok. That’s what I saw described as hockey puck sized anti-tank mines
Posted on 3/27/26 at 9:26 pm to SDVTiger
That was kind of the point of this thread: who in the hell are these guys and are they credible? Is there a bias in their reporting… so on and so forth.
Nah. Let it die on its own.

Are there CNS reporters on the ground in that village?
Why even entertain the MSM propaganda?
Seriously.
Why?
Wasn't it this same outlet who correctly said we bombed a school and killed at least 100 little girls? Seems like they have a better record than our resident Trump Devotion Syndrome sufferers.

Ok so we know for sure then this guy is not credible.

Aggies says they’re reputable. I’d love for others to help out here by posting examples one way or the other.

I literally just posted an example. They followed the initial reporting and were the first who said it HAD to be us on account of it being a Tomahawk.

Okay. So it’s 2-0 Bellingcat is reputable according to posters in this thread.

A quick check of those posters calling Bellingcat credible here should tell you all you need to know about

While the U.S. military has not officially held a press conference to "announce" a mining campaign, the Bellingcat geolocation of BLU-91/B mines makes this more than just a rumour.
The U.S. is the only party in the current conflict known to possess and deploy the Gator system.
It appears the "farfetched" idea has become a functional part of Operation Epic Fury to degrade Iran’s ability to launch retaliatory strikes.
Unlike traditional mines that soldiers bury by hand, Gator mines are air-delivered.
The Canister: They are packed into cluster-bomb dispensers like the CBU-89 (Air Force) or CBU-78 (Navy).
The "Tuna Can" Effect: Once dropped, the canister opens in mid-air, scattering dozens of mines over a massive area. To people on the ground, they look like harmless "tuna cans" or food packages, which is why they are so dangerous to civilians.
Aeroballistic Adaptors: You’ll see "square plastic wings" on them in the photos from Shiraz. These help the mines spin and stabilize so they land flat on the ground.
