Every time CSpan scans the floor and they catch Matt Gaetz he is always working the crowd. The dude always has 2, 3 or 4 people around him in discussion and he either has their full attention or he is listening intently. IDK what they are talking about. Hell, they could be talking about dinner, chicks, fishing, or whatever. The point is, Gaetz is always working the crowd.

I'm sure he is trying to find more out about his imminent arrest.

Now tied for most votes since 1839!

Next up, 1821 and their 12 votes!

After 1821’s 12 votes, we have a substantial gap to 1819’s 22 votes, but I know McCarthy has it in him for another 11 vote losing streak!

Scattershooting:

- The top two “big” numbers didn’t change overall in Round 10

200 McCarthy
212 Jeffries
13 Donalds
7 Hern
1 Present

- Donalds dropped 4 votes, which were picked up by Kevin Hern

- Reports continue to indicate a deal between McCarthy and dissenters is close

- Chip Roy is heading negotiations, along with Patrick McHenry and Scott Perry

- Offer in writing is expected tonight, “but the devil is in the details.”

- Budget is the big concern (i.e., cuts)

- No word yet on whether they’ll vote again tonight or adjourn

More random tweets from journalists:

- “The deal will help but won’t get McCarthy to 218 votes.” At that time they’ll have to pick off members one-by-one.

- Dissenters could also vote ‘Present,’ which will lower the threshold.

So.. 11 of the 20 would need to vote present to get Jeffries in?

I don’t see that happening.

Confirmation that a deal is on the table, which could bring McCarthy 8-20 votes.

They keep talking about a one vote threshold for motion for removal of speaker..???

They currently have 20 saying no McCarthy and he won't step down, so what is the gain?

Not exactly.
Each time someone votes present, the threshold for each goes down.
So while McCarthy would be losing a vote each time, Jeffries would, theoretically, be gaining one.

You also have to factor in the no shows. Someone is leaving for doctor appointment and won't be available tonight or tomorrow, think it's a McCarthy voter. Someone's wife had a baby and another's mother recently passed and her funeral is this weekend.
