Disinformation can go both ways, you know. I bet you're thinking almost all of that nearly 100 miles of replaced wall originally looked like those cherry picked photos of the worst possible cases, but I really doubt it. Show me some data to back it up and I'll be more impressed. Otherwise it's a disappointing effort so far.

Tell me, what happened to the so-called 'Secure Fence Act of 2006'?

We were supposed to get 700 miles, yes 700 miles, of super secure border protection that was going to stop and hinder the flow of illegal aliens, drug trafficking, human trafficking...along with satellite observation, outposts, stadium-like lighting, high speed access roads for Border patrol...

We were supposed to get this:

All we actually got was less than 40 miles of this, most of that was done under GWB.

BUT, guess who stopped the construction?

All of the wall is Bollard How do you continue to get more stupid

The DHS's OWN WEBSITE linked earlier in the thread clearly says it's not all bollard! And that only 14% of the first batch of funding went to bollard walls.

I'm not even arguing that the wall isn't a good idea or that it doesn't serve any function, because personally I am pro-border security, I'm just arguing that it's ridiculous that people think (1) the wall is 100% perfect, on schedule and on budget, and entirely consists of brand new tall-arse bollards in previously empty areas or where it used to be chicken wire and logs, and (2) the wall is 100% effective and would solve all illegal Mexican immigrant problems when a huge component of illegals is overstayed visas ( LINK 1 and LINK 2, and LINK 3 all from Fox News, so don't even try to call me out on "no data" and "no evidence"!), and even before the admittedly impressive drop in illegal border crossings thanks to Trump's policies, the illegal border crossings are nothing in comparison to overstayed visas. It's much more about image, building a big, impressive, photogenic wall than solving the illegal immigration crisis.

People accept NO shades of grey when it comes to Trump and this administration. Either it's 100% perfect or an absolute failure with no redeeming qualities.

I assume you're just repeating numbers you heard somewhere else and got really angry about, because 613 of the 700 miles were built. This amazing wall was breached almost 10,000 times costing $7 million dollars to repair (SOURCE), most illegals simply walked around the wall in unfortified areas SOURCE, and it was routinely climbed or driven over with ramps. Things Trump's much higher bollard wall would solve...if he was actually building the whole wall like that and extending it through the unprotected areas.

So...let me ask you, what are you even talking about, and why do you do no research before you spout numbers you're angry about for no reason?

We did not even get 50 miles of the fence that was signed into law back in 2006.

I am going to post it again, lease show me where 700 miles of this type fence was built:

The NYTs? C'mon man get real. They have been busted so many times lying against American causes its pathetic and its a wonder they are still in business.

That is a work that has been in process for about the last 3 1/2 years and will be an on-going project for the next 5 years.

At EVERY turn, the left and the RINOs have been trying to stop America's Wall on the southern border but DJT, like him or hate him, has been making tremendous progress in getting our southern border secured.

Please, you are projecting so just stop.

BTW, the visa overstay issue is being addressed as well:

quote:

The President’s plan has two parts. First, it recognizes that full border security is the bedrock of any functioning immigration system and proposes functional, operational, and structural reforms to strengthen America’s border infrastructure and laws. Second, it creates a new merit-based legal immigration system that protects American wages and safety net programs, prioritizes immediate families, and creates a fair and transparent process for immigration to America

A couple points:

quote:

Fully secure the border. The President’s plan creates a permanent, self-sustaining border security fund. Paid for with fees and revenues generated at ports of entry, the trust fund will ensure that law enforcement officers never have to wait on Congress to give them the resources to do their jobs. It would also make certain that 100 percent of people and goods entering the United States are properly inspected at ports of entry. The plan will facilitate quick completion of barrier construction in strategic locations and combat visa overstays through legal and infrastructural enhancements.

quote:

Modernize the legal immigration process to protect American workers. About 70 percent of immigrants who come to the United States today are admitted based on family relationships or through a random visa lottery—a system that favors random chance over the skills our economy needs. Through a point-based merit system, the President’s plan increases the number of legal immigrants selected based on skill or merit from 12 percent to 57 percent. The plan also has layers of protection for American jobs and wages, including recruitment requirements, displacement prohibitions, and wage
floors.

I'm sorry that I linked a website that you automatically distrust, and so won't even accept actual cold hard facts. I was actually wrong by the way, they completed even more fence, 649 out of 652 miles of fencing including 299 miles of vehicle barriers and 350 miles of pedestrian fence, but I won't link it because the website will make you uncomfortable.

You asked me "Tell me, what happened to the so-called 'Secure Fence Act of 2006'?" and I did. It got built. You didn't ask me "why doesn't the whole wall look like this picture?"

Hey, I can answer that too. It's because Republican Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (Texas) added an amendment that the whole wall didn't have to look like that, and could be reduced to lesser, cheaper walls as DHS decided was appropriate. I even found the original source where the amendment was proposed for you HERE.

Dude, really. They made a lame attempt to build a 'fence' sure there was a few miles done.

But for the most part, it was a TOKEN fence to give the appearance that something was being done about the southern border with Mexico.

The left-wing media has been swooning over Obama, Hillary, biden, Cuomo... and the democrats for decades like a group of 12 year old girls at a boy-band concert.

Here's a little secret that you may or may not know.

The Democrats want an open border so that they can get millions of voters and keep them in perpetual power.

The RINO Republicans want open borders so they can import millions of uneducated folks for cheap labor.

Yep. Our good ole RINO's who want millions of uneducated folks for cheap labor so the elites can line their already fat bank accounts.

Now, you may not like DJT(that's your prerogative) but you have to admit that he has our nations well being at the center of his presidency.

DJT consulted with the CBP and asked them what they needed to secure the southern border with Mexico and pretty gave them everything they asked for.

Its more than just a physical wall.

It's a wall SYSTEM.

There is tons of technology going into it.

Ground sensors to detect tunneling, stadium-like lighting to illuminate areas that are breached, miniature blimps that monitor the border 24-7, drone technology, outpost towers, living quarters for our Border Patrol men and women...and the list goes on and on.

Also, speaking of the 2006 Fence Act.

Read about Boeing's cluster-cluck, Project 28, on the Arizona border.

Boeing saw a huge welfare bonanza in the BILLIONS of $$$ and tried to sweet talk the Swamp in DC into adopting a 'virtual' fence program.

It was so bad that even Obama had it canceled in 2011. And that's saying a lot.

Sweet.

If you don't mind me asking, where are you working at and which project are you on?

Any other information would be appreciated.

company within the largest steel manufacturer in NA. Not trying to be vague but that should be a give away if you're at all familiar with the industry.
