Well the kicker right now apparently is that extra $600/wk. From what I've gathered typically its ~$500/wk pre covid. But damn, 2k + extra because of this shite is nuts.

Yeah that doesnt include the stimulus money.

Look at a married couple with 2 kids on unemployment
4000 covid unemployment 1
4000 covid unemployment 2
1200 stimulus 1
1200 stimulus 2
500 kid 1
500 kid 2
$11,400 for 1 month
Covid kicker goes until July 25th for unemployment
Obviously stimulus is 1 time - as of now.

Texas’ unemployment trust fund will run out of money in six weeks, so look for more federal unemployment bailouts.
The above also helps answer why people are being routinely denied benefits in Texas, other than lack of staffing... The money is running out fast.

We had to divert 5 truckloads of raw material to 2 separate customers this week and one of them old their employees they would be paid up to two months during the shutdown. Now they can’t get enough workers back to run the plant. Throwing billions of dollars away was not the right move.

It’s ridiculous that minimum wage workers are getting a huge pay raise with this, but there are a lot of those people out there who haven’t yet received a penny.

It varies. LA is at the low end, paying only $845. Massachusetts is at the top end. They pay up to $1423 per week now.

The worst part of this is trump passed this shite. This is a huge wakeup for me because good workers who are working or want to work are getting massively fricked over. The more I dig into this it gets worse.

If only we had someone in Congress who had experience in medicine, had done ER rotations, had contracted the virus, survived it with no symptoms, volunteered to work in ERs to help prevent other doctors from contracting the virus from patients, and who advocated for using the current unemployment system that was already in place to cover the unemployment situation that would stem from the government shutdowns instead of massive bailouts.
