Well the state of Israel, in its modern incarnation, is one of the few nations on Earth that was literally created by the international powers that be. And I support the recognition of the capital as the historical one of old Israel. But my point is one worth considering. Most other people didn't get their country gift wrapped and handed to them. Now granted, the Israelis have had to fight like hell to keep it.

I think recriminations over how nations of today came to be are best left to people with no lives because every nation on the planet is the result of some unsavory business.

Hell, people whine about how the U.S. came to be in relation to the Indians but that's just cause CNN didn't exist in 1400. If it had, we would have video of Indian tribes kicking each other's asses for the very territory we later took!

No one is pristine. That's just humanity.

Their capital is in Jerusalem.

But, moreover, MAYBE I'd care a bit about the people upset about it if they weren't people that are a blight upon humanity.

I didn't pass a judgment on the "unsavory" nature of anything. I simply said that when people give you something, they tend to think they have more say in what you do with it than if you took it or conceived of it yourself. The "international community" created Israel. And not like eons ago. It was within the lifetimes of hundreds of millions of people living today--including Jews and Arabs.

Canada changed its vote to abstain to avoid being seen as a US lapdog.

Any idea on the countries that didn't vote or abstain? Are they not eligible to vote on this matter?

I know of a really big one. Huge. Already had lands cleared for farming, streams rigged for fishing and trails made. All you had to do was take a boat ride. Ring a bell?

I'm sure whatever historical analogy you're trying to draw is too tortured to entertain, but I'll play along.

No.

I know. I was mostly thinking out loud.

I guess bottom line.

I have no fricking idea what the world is thinking when it comes to Islam.

The very same people who shite their pants and call you a Nazi if you suggest that perhaps people with penises shouldn't pee with 8 year old girls suddenly get all defensive about the most disgusting cult on the planet.

It's baffling to me. I really don't give a rat's frick what upsets Muslims. In fact, I kind of think they need to be perpetually upset.

Well that will do it, and show 95% of the entire world how Trump's US is leading the free world and acting like a baby. Can you possibly be so f...... dumb to not realize that we live in a global economy, have been the leader of the free world the better part of a century, and that Trump is destroying our ability to lead which jeopardizes US companies trading position overseas. If foreign revenues for US based companies would decline too fast, the US would go into full fledged depression. As example about 75% plus of Coca Cola's profit comes from offshore sales/ operations.

You don't remain this by appeasing everyone and going on an apology tour.

International politics is brutal, nasty, and everyone is only looking out for themselves. As it should be.

If you think all the cute speeches made at the UN is political reality, you're hopelessly naive.
