The Ukrainian president fired his commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrskyi on Tuesday, bowing to pressure after the removal of popular Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov sparked the fiercest leadership crisis of his presidency.

quote:

President Volodomyr Zelenskyy announced in a post on Telegram that Syrskyi will be replaced by Mykhailo Drapatyi.

Zelenskyy’s decision to fire Fedorov, one of his closest allies, led to rare wartime protests on the streets of Kyiv. Fedorov publicly aired his disagreements over military strategy with Syrskyi, known as “The Butcher.”

Syrskyi, 60, is a more traditional military commander focused on infantry and artillery, while Fedorov, 35, is seen as a modernizer, whose focus on technological advancements in drone warfare has led to Ukraine’s recent successes in hitting Russia.

Worried Ukrainians, fearing that Fedorov’s removal could wipe out those gains, took to the streets calling for Fedorov to be reinstated and Syrskyi forced out instead. A senior air force commander also quit in protest.

Federov seemingly did a great job. Droning Russia's version of Amazon to create public pain? Expert move.

Must be nice to have a federal leader who is responsive to legitimate protest.

That and oil production, shipping and military logistics while Putin went for apartment buildings as his old KGB handbook said.

Perhaps you should go over there. Might be more to your liking. I seriously doubt you’d be missed here.

True, but that can be hidden for the most part from the major population centers in the Western portion of Russia. If someone took out the Amazon delivery center 2 miles from me, half of Houston would riot.

Ukraine's constitution doesn't allow elections during a war.

Grok says:

quote:

Zelensky's popularity in Ukraine has followed a clear pattern over the last 5 years (roughly 2021–2026): low and declining before the full-scale Russian invasion, a massive surge in early 2022 that remained very high through 2023, followed by a gradual decline to more moderate but still solid levels (typically 50–70%) amid war fatigue.

Make no mistake.... the little UPS delivery man dressed dictator only does what his globalist puppet masters tell him to do. He's not a stupid person, he understands that his days are numbered.
I do not believe he will have the opportunity to enjoy the riches he has embezzled.
I'm shocked he's still sucking air.

I don't recall that. Could you provide accurate information to establish that what you say is true?

You don’t read good. You don’t write good. You also don’t lie good.

Nowhere in the article you linked does it say that Zelensky “cancelled an election.” In fact, the article you linked says the following as the reason elections have not been held.
quote:

A wartime election would be illegal

Ukraine has been under martial law since February 2022, when Russia launched its full-scale invasion. The country’s constitution provides for martial law in wartime, and a separate law bars the holding of elections while it remains in force.

Yeah I've got to admit, the moves they've made the last year have been pretty damned brilliant. Unfortunately it's going to get them nuked.

The new guy has a good image, but he looks exhausted and a bit over the hill. Time will tell. Looked like Fedorov was turning the tide with miles long gas cue and such.

here you go jethrine!

Zelenskyy’s five-year term was scheduled to end in May 2024, but elections were legally put off due to Russia’s full-scale invasion. That has become a source of tension with U.S. President Donald Trump, who has criticized the delay as he pushes Zelenskyy to accept his proposals for ending the war.

here you go cock smoker do you pay the man before or after you watch him puck your wife.

what am i talking about you don't have a wife.

I'm sure he "doesn't remember" Zelensky throwing opposing political members in jail or what has happened to the Orthodox Church clergy, either.
