Well the civilians are pissed. He canceled elections. Riot are getting worse. And now he is trying to beef up the military to "protect us"!
If you think that move is because of Russia you are wrong. Why now. That war has been going on for years.

The spending program increase started in 2016. The latest strategic defense review borrows heavily from the 2021 review commissioned by Boris Johnson. None of that is new. The spending trends make that apparent.
