No, it really isn't.

Maybe Alabama, but not Louisiana.

Even in your hypothetical where Louisiana is equally as corrupt, Louisiana is still better prepared to respond to Louisiana disasters than FEMA is.

It's not a hypothetical, and it's not "equally corrupt", it's just a fact that Louisiana government is corrupt and incompetent.

Your fantasies about the virtuosity of state governments have no bearing on the criminality and incompetence of Louisiana government.

I'm not even sure how you could make any claim about Louisiana government being better than the federal government. It looks to me like simple wish-casting.

Good. They deny hard working citizens who do the right thing and have insurance. You know why.

It's pretty easy to see the failures of FEMA throughout the country. Not sure what you think you're advocating for here, but it isn't better than whatever you think will happen if the feds just give disaster money to Louisiana.

As a 60-year resident of Louisiana, I am quite familiar with Louisiana state government, are you?

I realize that your ideology requires you to think that State governments are necessarily virtuous, while the federal government must be evil, but that is not always the case.

But yeah, give Louisiana politicians a big chunk of cash. What could go wrong?

Do you even have a clue what I’m talking about? Obviously not. Hamilton was getting things changed and now he’s gone with hurricane season rolling in.

I am very familiar with FEMA.

No no, it is definitely always the case that states are better equipped to respond to needs of the state than the feds.

You're just an idiot who loves big government and has to lie about how virtuous it is.

And completely ignorant of Louisiana politics. I too am familiar with FEMA responses to disasters in Louisiana.

Here's where you start lying:

I never said the federal government was virtuous. Just because Louisiana is more corrupt than the federal government doesn't mean the federal government is not corrupt.

But I don't think you understand how ignorant you look defending the state government of Louisiana. It's quite comical. We don't even have actual Republicans and Democrats in our government, we simply have politicians taking from the People. Our government is notoriously corrupt. I don't understand how that's escaped your attention. As a matter of fact, I don't think it has. I believe you're simply ignoring it to make some ideological point.

Don't they just pull out the plans for the past several decades as well as the reviews of those responses?

And upgrade from there?

Is this the same dude who said he would, "run through anyone standing in his way"?

Because of course it is. Climate change and such, right? Always predict higher than normal, but seldom does that ever translate to actual - more storms - stronger storms - more storms that make landfall.

True. And they also increase 'hurricane season.' When I was a kid it started in August. Now, it's June.

Good thing not every year is "above normal".
