If you actually care you could have posted that in remembrance of his and his family's sacrifice you made a donation to xxxx in his/their name since you believed that the family was financially stable.

You understand how mortgages work right? His family lived a lifestyle assuming he wouldn’t be murdered at 31.
Ensuring his kids and widow have the lifestyle he worked for is not ridiculous. His family likely needs private security and his kids will need to go to private school - not cheap.
