Loved Tucker Carlson when I first came upon his show in 2004 or so.
Unfortunately, he has really dumbed down his shite for whatever audience he thinks he needs over the past 10-15 years. This and his whole “look how cheap groceries in Russia are” events are two great examples.

Russia operates air defense systems on par with any western one. Russia wouldn’t let any “capable” Air Force work with impunity because they wouldn’t be able to.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think Carlson all of a sudden is an idiot. Far from it, in my opinion.
But he evidently is trying to play to a certain crowd. Exactly who, I can only guess, but in doing so, it’s making him at least publicly go down some idiotic paths/takes.

He may be alluding to how poor some of our weapons did against Russia, that and the fact that supposedly Russia can manufacture ammo at about 5 times what we can. This is another reason we need to onshore more manufacturing for defense/military.

The mistake Tucker is making is thinking we were in the proxy war to win it. Look at our history of proxy wars during the Cold War. Even the ones where we spilt American blood, it was more about destroying whatever the other side gets than taking it.

Our proxies just weren’t that good and didn’t fight hard enough. And hundreds of thousands of military aged Ukrainian men fled their country rather than stand and fight for it. I think Putin is an a-hole and enemy of the USA but I also don’t give a frick about Ukraine.
