Go look at my posting history on this site. I showed up when the virus became a thing. I absolutely would have not accepted the advice of the "experts" - because here's the thing, they were full of shite every single moment of this pandemic, and you know who knew this in the White House? Trump did. It was his initial/gut instinct, to treat the virus like it was a healthcare issue that needed to be addressed in hospitals, nursing homes and long-term care facilities - not in the general public (behind hygiene), and definitely not in the economy. Trump blew it when he went against his own instincts.
I don't agree with you that this would have locked up a loss for Trump. Do you think his chances of winning are better now with all the good press about his response to Coronavirus?
He would have crappy press (like he does always anyway) but what would have been different is this economy would still be strong, and that was his strongest argument for reelection - a strong economy.

Trump needs to have the Oval office speech address the nation and layout the path forward. I'm his biggest fan but this wait and see approach is not what got him elected. He needs to start getting things done. Heck he cut regulation after regulation in the the first 100 days. He needs to give people a reason to vote for him and let people know that its only going to get better from here. Trump got elected as the Law and Order President and somone who could get the economy rolling. Just sitting and Tweeting is going to lose him his reelection.

Outside of sending in the national guard to wreck shite and start cracking Marxist skulls, he is using everything at his disposal.

It was nothing more than a flawed model saying those numbers. They even admitted it was wrong.
You NEVER shutdown an economy for anything. Never. Said it many times on this message board that it was the worst decision in the history of our country. Never shutdown an economy for anything.
Instead you take proactive measures to protect those at highest risk and put in safety measures. The travel bans were the smart thing, not the rest.

He didn’t shut down the economy.
Each state shut down their own state. The CDC provided guidelines and recommendations but each state made its own decision.
By your assertion he shut down the economy why won’t he just magically open it up again tomorrow?
Because he objectively didn’t shut it down Governors did with their own states. And they would’ve done the same regardless of his CDC recommendations and guidelines.
