people probably said the same thing in the 1940s when we started putting photographs of baseball players on pieces of cardboard and selling them for a nickel
these Trump cards will probably be worth zero over time. but some digital collectibles have status, scarcity, and transportability, etc. with that said, i wouldnt touch 99% of them but the remaining 1% will be very valuable over time.

Also, similar to FTX/Alameda, the timing was just perfect. 2020 led to a lot of bored people with a lot of disposable income. Actual trading cards got big again in the pandemic economy. Luxury cars and housing prices skyrocketed. You name it and a bubble likely formed.
