No, its populist drivel.

CEO pay isnt affecting worker pay. Y'all listen to Bernie and AOC too often.

But he has a point. It’s screwy to have rank and file workers averaging $38k yearly while JUST the CEO is making over $40 million yearly. Then add in the expense of other top heavy leadership.

The hardest part of high level roles is managing people. The CEO is essentially responsible for 1.5 million employees, and all the work they do.

They are paid much more than the solo contributor because they are worth it.

This isnt the point. Why make it even more "socialist" is the point.

Tell me of a time when price controls worked?

When did they make people's life better?

Oh, I agree. They don't have any value except for loyalty to Trump. They are definitely not conservatives. Not that it will matter. The prog leftwing, aka marxist, will frame MAGA as being conservative while they attack liberal economic small government conservatives in the future.

Only sin tax price flooring did what they were supposed to do, but the point there was to reduce demand on an industry as the prioirty. Unless we're doing this to the rent a mob industry, it better be a threat or something with a very near future end date. Even "succesful" attempts only saw short lived success, while the rest sucked out of the gate.

Trumps already progressive in the economic realm, we are virtually there already.

MAGA will not be able to criticize Democtrats on economic platforms again after Donny's leftward shift.

then why are we moving this direction with a Republican administration?

This is some of the same mistakes Nixon made, economically.

It was called the Nixon Shock.
quote:

The Nixon shock was the effect of a series of economic measures, including wage and price freezes, surcharges on imports, and the unilateral cancellation of the direct international convertibility of the United States dollar to gold, taken by United States president Richard Nixon on 15 August 1971 in response to increasing inflation and threats of a currency crisis.

What the MAGA baws don't get is that this power of government is going to be turned against them in the very near future and they'll have no principle to stand on, nothing but the precedent of a GOP POTUS acting just like left-winger will be acting. Once Trumps gone, the bulk of the MAGA boys will try and return to the conservative fold only to find a smoking wreck and no solid ground to stand on facing what I think will be a very emboldened and proactive leftwing government.

I mean, Bessent explains it in the article. I assume the reason he gave is the true reason. I won't pretend to know as much about the sotuation as he does, but to your point, he is trying a very historically unsuccessful method for combatting a hostile foreign market.

I've also learned long ago to give news from thid admin a little time to breathe before going hardcore for or against. Half the time it's a tactic used to grease the skids of a deal or ahead of a meeting with the target nations (which is the case with China here.)

"We'll see" said the wise man.

Riiiiiight.

Let me tell you what socialism is. fricktards like you and Obama making me pay for some crackhead whores abortion, or gender surgery,
You truly are the dumbest frick in this board if you think what the past 2 Dems did wasn't fully socialistic methods. Stupid motherfrickers gave this power to China and the middle east. We are left cleaning your socialist shite up, and protecting AMERICA'S interests!!!!!! No one else's. The price floor effects ZERO American companies, it stops China from dropping prices so low that the tarrifs dont effect their pricing at wholesale.

frick that

It would be like America placing a 30k price floor on full size sun's. There are zero full sized that are priced at 30 k, he'll there aren't any at 50k.
But, it stops a China manufacturer from putting a 29k price on an import suv, that with 100% tarrifs would put it well over 50k.

I know logic hurts your brain, but a floor of this sort will NOT effect American made goods.

Thanks for shopping bitch, you are free to leave and go to those Oh So Democratic countries like Russia, Iran, and Germany. Get back to us on that free market bullshite there

Using objectively horrible means.

I think its ok to criticize this move as progressive and incredibly risky.

Roger has come unhinged again. Trump must have done something good for American manufacturing, and/or bad for Chicom manufacturing.

And before you say it, no, I won't be voting for AOC. And yes, price floors have been a part of manufacturing since I started 30 years ago.

Great retort. Will read again to absorb so much of your knowledge. Conversations end when only name-calling is left by the loser.

That would be you

One silver lining is if they can thread the needle such that the floor is below domestic equilibrium and above China's, China is about to have a surplus of goods that are no longer attractive to purchase.

They seem to be shooting Americans in the shoulder to try and get to China's heart. I would prefer not to be shot.

What happens if competitors raise their prices 30%, while youre already competing?

Do you leave money on the table or do you raise your prices?
