A big part of this food costs escalation problem started in 2021 with the un-necessary shut down of the entire economy during the Covid Hoax-a-thon.
Then came wide-spread reports of wanton destruction of food processing plants, herds of beef cattle and chicken farms (almost as if it was all planned.)
The last part of the "rising cost of food" equation is hyper-inflation (printed $$$) and devaluation of the U$D.
Food (real / quality anyway) will never again be decreasing during our lifetime.

But your last line is disingenuous… The absolute “will never be decreasing in our lifetimes” absolutely ignores three actual examples.
Prices almost never tend to decrease… almost never. Almost.

BUT
Trump's ridiculously and un-precedented shut down and interruption of the entire US economy (including tens of thousands of small - medium businesses) contributed mightily to food escalation during The Turnip's run.
That cost-spike of food occurring from 2021-now was going to happen regardless of whether Biden or George Washington were President.

Grocery prices even at shithole stores like WalMart are off the charts. This has been a huge failure on Trumps part considering his promises.
