Why is anyone shocked Iran attacked their ME neighbors? Could be Iran was hoping to drag their neighbors into the fray, hoping the nations being attacked would turn on the US and blame the US for Iran attacking them? Maybe Iran attacked the other nations for allowing US influence in their nation or allowing a US military presence in their nation? Maybe the Islamic Regime is simply lashing out because they're getting their asses hammered?

We know the government of Iran is full of Islamist zealots who will do whatever it takes. So to be “shocked” they did this is laughable especially when the government literally told the UN and anyone who would listen that they would literally do exactly this.

It says that Iran will attack the hostile forces and their assets. The hostile forces are the US and Israel. Not the citizens, economy, or infrastructure of the neighboring countries.
