Can someone with some legal expertise give a nonpartisan take on the court's decision?
I always find it interesting when someone can help us non-lawyers understand the court's findings.

Why do these people want his damn taxes so much? The IRS has never pursued or charged him with any criminal wrongdoing relating to his taxes his entire life nor does there exist a legislative purpose for using his taxes, sounds to me like an unsupported search and seizure or constitutional Taking for which he's entitled to just compensation.

Trump's DOJ says he cannot be indicted or even investigated for a crime while he holds office.
That DOJ policy was established well before Trump became President idiot.

The fact is that Trump has been using his foundation for years to avoid taxes. The investigation is into violation of the tax and nonprofit incorporation laws. His tax returns are perfectly relevant. If you don't want to have to show your tax returns, don't abuse the tax exemption laws.

That isn't even a little bit true.

This is a grand jury proceeding for violation of tax laws of the State of New York through his foundation, which claimed tax exempt status. So, you would agree that the classification of taxable and non-taxable income is within the power of the taxing authority to investigate, right?

why

I’m not a fan, but out of fairness to the president here at least two reasons:

1. The reason that there is no legal requirement for people to disclose their tax returns under ordinary circumstances is that there is a right to privacy.

2. It almost doesn’t matter what is in the tax return. Even if he had in substance the most innocent tax return in America, it would be portrayed as the most sinister.

Well gee wiz that is so hard to figure out.

Democrats and the media are so fair about not spinning and/or lying about basic facts to make Trump look bad. They treat him with complete fairness.

I am sure when presented complex tax returns that most CPAs wouldn't understand that they will treat them with utmost fairness and never consider spinning them in a negative light.

Seriously, are you that stupid or are you faking obtuseness?

At the end of the day, I think his reluctance to give up his taxes has more to do with the probability that he isn’t nearly as wealthy as he claims to be than nefarious conduct with foreign entities.

I don't think our public officials should have a right to privacy.
