The news said Trump was a liar.

Social media actually BANNED the president.

Your take, while true in a vacuum, lacks context.

LOTS of people have seen the light.

Simply put, it just takes time (and a willingness to actually pay attention).

Why does this matter? Trump's treatment by the media didn't change with Covid. Did anybody think they were going to cover him w/o bias, or in most cases - pure hatred? Ever?

It's not an excuse for him failing bigly on Covid.

It's weird so many conservatives expect so little out of their leaders.

So freedom = failing?

The Louisiana legislature had a chance to put JBE’s tyranny in check. They chose not to. I won’t vote for those that didn’t step up going forward.

Somehow, though, you blame Trump for not consolidating power. It doesn’t compute unless you support authoritarian governance.

You may, I don’t.

You guys have to make up shite to make an argument.

I have never argued that Trump should have "consolidated power" or any of the other whiny BS you guys come up with.

Trump was rolled over by the establishment. Some of that was his own f'n administration. You realize the CDC and NIH are part of the executive branch, right?

His intuition told him to not let Covid become something it shouldn't become. He even said things along this line, "can't let the treatment be worse than the disease" (paraphrasing). But in the end, he took the knee. He helped fund all the bullshite, and he allowed government agencies he was responsible for to lie like hell and gaslight the shite out of the country.

Hindsight is 20/20 (or 2020).

I mean, you are suggesting that the country, in the midst of a pandemic, wouldn’t have become incendiary if Trump had fired the “experts.”

Keep in mind that YOU didn’t know Jack shite about the frickery by Fauci and friends at the time. The firings would have been viewed as arbitrary AND political.

He gave the states power...period.

You lamenting that Trump didn’t act IS centralizing Federal power (by default).

You are attempting to rewrite history.

Were mistakes made, yes.

But this Monday morning QB shite is making me feel like I’m on the rant (That will happen soon enough...on Tuesday).

Feel what you want to feel, but the context I have added is accurate.

Consider the context or not.

Like Trump, I’m kicking it back to you.

Peace and Happy New Year.

This is utter bullshite. There were plenty of adults that knew not to buy what was being sold about Covid. Even on this little old message board, there were several posters that knew what was what.

And besides, since when did the best plan to address an "unknown" become to shut it all down? That's stupid.

You've said this twice, which means you're being dishonest. I've never made an argument remotely consistent with this.

I think that's you. You are imagining there were no adult/sober voices back in March/April 2020, and there were.

Maybe you were gaslighted by the Left, media and permanent gov't. I can't say, but what I can say is many were not. For those that were, that were fooled - "Monday morning quarterbacking" is just to make you/them feel better about playing useful idiot.

Your context is fantasy.

My name isn't Anthony Fauci, bro.

Peace & Happy New Year to you, too. Much appreciated.

My search history on TD will definitively show that I was one of the first to do so. We are talking REALLY early on.

I sad it was dumb, but that it was also practical given the panic gripping the vast majority of the country.

He kicked it to the states. That is three times now. It is a fact...period.

I was one, and there weren’t many of us.
Ridicule was the norm. It was what it was.

My post history says otherwise.

We will agree to disagree.

You can argue that, that’s fine. But don’t put words in my mouth - suggesting my view is he should have gone authoritarian. I don’t argue anything like that.

Then I’m not sure why you’re arguing ignorance as a defense fir Trump letting his administration get away from him.

Dumb. Obviously.

Practical? No. There’s nothing practical about trying to hide from a wildly communicative virus.
