Amazing how easy it is to just look things up instead of making them up

This whole thread is over 20 pages because it is a made up on a false premise.

Trump really said we're seeing "5, 6, 7 and even 8 dollars a gallon" for gas prices

And how many people have to show you evidence that it is factually correct?

The more pertinent question is why didn’t they stay that way?

Fairly simple and short answer is when commodity prices tanked during COVID a lot of upstream investment came to a screeching halt. There was a glut of oil and it was not economically prudent for private investment to sink billions into upstream development. As the economy rapidly recovered from COVID during both at the end of the Trump presidency and into the Biden presidency the industry was not equipped to handle the renewed demand. It's not as simple as opening a valve or two to get things back up and running. It takes real work and planning. The oil industry also had a lot of trouble attaining the talent to manage these projects. They laid off hundreds of thousands of people who didn't wait around for the industry to come calling back. And as cyclical as the industry can be many stayed in their new professions for stability even if it was less money.

For reference here is an article citing 120K oil and gas jobs were lost in 2020

LINK

When those jobs were needed again they weren't able to quickly fill those vacancies. It doesn't matter who was president. We would have faced the same challenges in a second Trump term. Trump can't force people to return to an industry that discarded them.

These people are lunatics and morons

Cherry picking a few select data points means nothing against the complete set of data. In those randomly picked places the prices were sky high under Trump as well rendering his entire commentary stupid and meaningless drivel for low IQ lunatics.

It’s why everything he says is so hard to trust. He’s either making an uninformed blanket statement or outright making things up. He’s been doing it for years,

People, he is saying gas is more expensive under Biden than it was under him. Whether we are looking at national averages, the same “outliers” year over year, he is right. Biden campaigned on killing the O&G industry. He has done nothing to stop inflation whether or not gas is part of the index. His admin has dismissed it as fleeting by way of Independence Day hot dog reports.

What are you sticking up for?

And yet we're producing more than we ever have

Sounds like a dumb false campaign promise by Biden and nothing more

Actually he did do something and got excoriated for it. The SPR drawdown was about the only tool available in his toolkit on gas prices. Production is driven by private industry.

Which was obviously very stupid and tone deaf

And the bigger issue is that every damn thing is ridiculous more expensive. Not just gas. People quibbling about the actual price of a gallon of gas being 5 or 6 dollars are completely missing the point.

And the truth is this was an inevitability no matter who was president

Global supply chain shortages and a long period of very low interest rates are to blame for a significant portion of the inflation

If you want to argue that it was government spending I won't stop you. But Trump bears plenty of culpability in that department as well. Not only did he condone the COVID spending but he wanted more than what congress sent him. Going so far as to demand his name be on the stimulus checks. He embraced it as much as he possibly could. But with things the way they were he was somewhat backed into a corner and the country probably needed the pandemic unemployment assistance and stimulus checks. You don't survive something like that without having to pay the piper later.

I see you didn't respond to my other post where I answered your inquiry about why prices went up

Wonder why that is?

We were told the war in Ukraine was reason gas went up. Now there is two wars going on and gas is cheaper. Ok done!

You could try to explore the real reasons or you can just cry about it

I'd rather learn something than be miserable and whining all the time

But you do you

It feels like progress that you can say they have gone up.

Maybe. Maybe not. Deregulation can be an effective counter balance to inflation since competition can force companies to offer lower prices. Trump was a strong advocate for deregulation unlike current admin.

I feel pretty confident that it wouldn’t be nearly this bad.

Of course they have. You asked why and I provided a reasonable answer that is easily backed by facts. Turns out it wasn't as simple as "I don't like the current president" so I guess that isn't good enough for some people.

Point out where Trump lied
this Is a bizarre thread.
1) Do you think Trump knows the price per gallon of gasoline in any of the 50 states?
2) To assume he lied is to assume he wasn't just guessing or trying to ballpark some numbers he saw or heard – from God knows where
3 Does it even matter? Who actually gives a shite?
4) OP is retarded for thinking this actually matters. You're retarded for thinking this was important enough that Trump’s honor needed defending

Look. This *administration knows that they had to cheat to win. They hate America because they had to be installed and are doing all they can to destroy us by printing and then exporting money to people who either hate us or will siphon our money back to the same people that hate us (and, yes, I am talking about US politicians).

The "elite" hate us for our power which is why they constantly drum up BS to separate us. If we (US Citizens) congealed, the elite would not longer hold power over us.
