I've never had a problem with legal immigration, it's the illegal part that really chaps everyone's arse: if we can't enforce our laws we should just disband and become an anarchy...

A Want doesn't understand that illegal immigrants depress wages of actual citizens and actual legal migrants that came here to better their lives the right way.
He doesn't understand that they will send their workers here to earn their tax free money and send it back to their country with no desire to ever become a citizen.
He doesn't care that they take advantage of our tax dollars. That they are often victims of crimes from their own people that we can't solve due to their undocumented status.
No, he wants to call us all racists because we welcome with open arms any one, of any race, who wishes to come here to love this country and follow it's laws.

Unless/until our current entitlement system is overhauled, we will continue to struggle filling low-wage, manual labor jobs, especially seasonal work. Our current system disincentivizes Americans to take those jobs - the pay is not not enough to compensate for the benefits they will lose by by working those jobs. Not to mention many Americans just don't want them because they are really hard work!
So until a major change is made, I would expect temp visas for seasonal workers to continue and I would much prefer it done legally rather than illegally.
