Dumping tons of money into the economy is fun and all that, but it does put American labor at a decided disadvantage on the global markets.
Our own govt and the Fed are to blame.

Youre an awful human being. He's not attacking Trump, he's a Trump voter.
You're allowed to disagree with some of Trumps picks. It means youre not in a cult.
Arent you afraid of a bunch of Mexicans taking your job?

Soon the entire economy is going to have a labor shortage with the number of boomers retiring. It's a demographic fact that we can't escape. No amount of bitching about not enough white people is going to change that
So we all know this is an upcoming issue. You, and others, say just import their replacements who cares about our American culture. Others, like me, say we focus on improving the education system here to improve the native generations to to replace them.
If India can produce educated talent that tickles your fancy, I have a feeling we can do it here too. Just takes the dedication to doing it.

I follow a ton of based/far right accounts on Twitter/X, and they've almost exclusively talked about this all day. A lot of people have emphasized what goldennugget has said: that once Indians get into management, they ONLY hire other Indians.
I love Musk for spending a ton of money to keep free speech alive, but he can suck a dick on the H1B situation. Eliminating H1Bs probably isn't realistic politically, but we should drastically increase the minimum wage for H1Bs. It's $60k right now, we need to increase it to $90k for most states, and ~$130k in Cali.

No one is worried about research.
It's been brought up here several times how H1B is used to bring in foreigners on the cheap in the private sector. Quit trying to move the goalposts.
Elon's pro-immigration stance doesn't appear to be getting a great reception on X, so I doubt that stance is limited to here.

Why should we. I've been told that they don't have to pay American taxes. They can claim EXEMPT on their tax forms.

Why should we what? Increase their minimum wage? We do it to make H1Bs less attractive to American companies.
Again, I'd prefer a lengthy moratorium on ALL immigration, but I don't think that it will pass with so many RINOs in congress. Increasing the H1B wage would be the next best thing. That + higher taxes on money sent out of the country.

Well, yes I understand but that won't happen. Most of these immigrants don't even have to pay any taxes because of income tax treaties , which is another slap in the face to American citizens. This is a big issue that is kept hush hush. Maybe if they did have to pay taxes, they wouldn't want to come to America to begin with. LINK

There are Americans in this thread being mocked for losing their jobs in favor of Trump and his new bff Elon.
I am guessing these are either retirees with zero perspective of the labor market, or people in legally protected professions (attorneys, financial advisors, etc).
Older generations can’t really fathom what the country has become because 15 years ago it wasn’t this way at all. Some of these detractors in this thread have probably been retired longer than that. As long as they can sit around collecting dividends from investments, they don’t care about any policies put in place to enable that sort of system.

It's interesting how the elites have spent so many years contributing to the politicians that sabotage our educational system, while they don't let their own kids inhabit that system, and then tell us that American kids are too dumb to hire so we must expand H1B.
Maybe a lot of these elites are not actually elite - they're just evil. Most got lucky to be where they are and realize they aren't head and shoulders above the rest, so they use the power, wealth, and influence they have now to keep others from competing.
I wonder if Trump is still going to staple green cards to diplomas.
