Companies defiantly aren't going to pay Americans $60K+ with benefits to do that job and that's what lazy Americans want.

Just not happening

This makes absolutely zero sense

As it's been said, we are are holding down our own people (the work force) by importing people to take their jobs.

We're not. And we're not bringing in enough of them.

You need to get out more and read this thread. Someone mentioned the Plano/Frisco TX area, and a school called UT Dallas that is all Indian.

You don't see any issue with this, for your own reasons, that's fine, but don't be disingenuous or naive.

Are native born people in these professions scrounging to find work? If not then what you're saying makes absolutely no sense at all.

So import them. The American Way. No complaining about illegal immigration then.

They aren’t going to do it cooperatively either.

There are people in this thread saying this, so obviously yes.

Again no need to bring in so many to create their own new cities for something that can be done from their own nation, unless you are ok with destroying the American culture. You do you.

So is it your contention that native born data engineers and IT people can't find work?

In the DFW area, absolutely. I don't work in either of those fields but I have a lot of former co-workers and friends who do and it depresses me seeing them always posting on LinkedIn about how shitty their job searching is going. Especially IT.

You have proven you are naive to the outcome of what you are pushing. If it weren't the case, then there wouldn't be enough Indians in the Sugarland TX area to build a Hindu temple with the 3rd largest statue in America. Keep laughing as this idolistic evil takes over our lands. I'm sure your ancestors would be proud of you, and your offspring thankful.

Seems like there are plenty of people around here that have no issues with unfettered immigration to support poor working conditions for low pay. Keep the Dept of Education churning out bad students/workforce.

Dang Kamala voters.

But we should all take a collective shite on the guy even though he isn't going to be working in immigration

Part of AI is going to involve labor, govt contracts, security issues, etc. All of this is intertwined.

That is a fact, not a contention. Companies don't have to verify that no American labor is available. They are laying off Americans and hiring H1B employees. EPI and many others have published reports on this for years.

My question for the crowd who wants more H1B visas, think we have a labor shortage and want to bring in the "best and brightest" foreigners...

What industries specifically? Software engineering? Data science? IT? Web development? ML Engineering?

What can a "best and brighest" software engineer from India do that Americans can?

It's not that they're necessarily better. It's that we need more in total. Do you even have any concept of what an industry specific labor shortage even is?

Answer his question.

Where are the shortages?

With STEM it's mostly on the research side

Soon the entire economy is going to have a labor shortage with the number of boomers retiring. It's a demographic fact that we can't escape. No amount of bitching about not enough white people is going to change that.

There are Americans in this thread being mocked for losing their jobs in favor of Trump and his new bff Elon.
