Yeah. You’re an electrician on the rig. You know all about OOIP and the best ways to recover the most you can.

I agree with the sentiment but not in this particular case. The entire nation is affected by this issue and to concentrate the power over policy decisions to a handful of coastal states wouldn't seem like a good way to do it (what if the gulf south were as hippy as California). I love that the government is getting out of the way, I just can't think of a way to do this and protect the more scenic beaches in a way that satisfies the libertarian in me.

I do know that this is essentially not that important
We have the ability to supply the market without additional offshore drilling
Many rigs shut down because we flooded the supply
The idea that we're just going to start drilling every possible place we can is silly

Except for the waters off the coasts of states in which Republican governors have whined about it, like Florida. What a total hypocrite Trump is.
