Trump moves to open nearly all offshore waters for drilling.

The proposal lifts a ban on such drilling imposed by President Barack Obama near the end of his term and would deal a serious blow to his environmental legacy. It would also signal that the Trump administration is not done unraveling environmental restrictions in an effort to promote energy production.

exploration is one thing. Gettig it back to shore and processed is another. State permits are required for that.

Hell ... the Chinese are drilling in the Gulf of Mexico right now and soon will have platforms in international waters off the coasts of the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida.
Why not us? It's waaaaay past time for us to get out there and start drilling again.

I'm torn about this issue. I really don't want there to be visible oil rigs from every beach in the gulf south.
