There’s a mixture of rightness and wrongness in there, IMO. I would certainly agree that sooner than later is preferable, obviously. But there is somewhat of a process involved with this blockade. If left as is by virtue of inaction by Iran, then dominoes will start to fall: any defensive mechanisms, both hardware and personnel-wise, leaving them completely vulnerable and wide open for us to have our way with whomever we need to do so; citizens will reach and go beyond max capacity as far as managing their ordeal is concerned, leading to a rabid revolt, the countries that rely on Iran’s oil will take a very adversarial stance against them, etc. All of that can theoretically happen much quicker than one might imagine. The key is the current Iranian leadership anticipating the same potentialities, and to save their own individual hides they completely give in to any and all American demands.

Well, he was mentioning “anecdotal” earlier, so maybe he’s personally visited with tens on top of tens of thousands of people throughout the country, and derived his conclusions from those “anecdotes.”

Now some are so spiteful and hateful that they intentionally set expectations out of reach because they surprisingly want the leader of their own country to fail in all those endeavors that affect us all.
