I remember getting downvoted to oblivion for pointing out how making Apple move from one shite hole to another shite hole didn't do much of anything, regardless of the new shite hole being US friendly.

no, what will happen is tariffs on the incoming COST will generate money for the Gov. Apple will have to decide how much they want to pass off the higher material costs in the consumer price. Apple profits will dip a little and they will make that up in the bottom line by reducing their spend in places like China.

That $1200 iPhone 16 pro made in Shenzhen by Foxconn. Yeah, the cost to produce that device is roughly $400. Apple will pay the tariff and keep moving. Or they'll create an assembly only facility in the US.

there is no affordable phone made in the USA. that’s a joke. the tariffs would need to be like 400% to make it cost neutral. $5k iphone
