He cannot. Its impossible for him or his minions to admit fault.

This the biggest problem.

There can never be a reckoning for Covid because, one of the people largely at fault for many things:

Won't admit he was wrong

And

His followers who actually hate everything to do with Covid won't hold that against him.

Its insane, but that's how cult of personalities work.

Right. They hate the lockdowns and all the tyranny re convid. They hate the vaccine and how it was rushed out and forced on people…but won’t blame Trump for his role in it! Why?

Trump criticizes Sweden for NOT locking down
By Trump's logic, Biden did not have lockdowns either. The states and cities are the ones that mandate lockdowns in the American cities. But both Biden and Trump locked down what they could. And as you can see in the attached link, Trump was all in on lockdowns at this point.

Here is his tweet, which is full of disinformation because he compares Sweden to the other Nordic countries. Sweden was counting everyone who died WITH covid, while the others were counting everyone who died OF covid. This is Donald J. Trump's tweet that he has since removed.
quote:

Despite reports to the contrary, Sweden is paying heavily for its decision not to lockdown. As of today, 2462 people have died there, a much higher number than the neighboring countries of Norway (207), Finland (206) or Denmark (443). The United States made the correct decision!

March 17: Trump asks workforce to stay home, says he’s always known it was a pandemic

During a news conference, Trump asks “everyone to work at home, if possible, postpone unnecessary travel, and limit social gatherings to no more than 10 people”.

That same day, Trump states he has “always known this is a real, this is a pandemic. I’ve felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic”.

Yup. Part of the 2017 “tax cut” bill included changes to Section 174 that reclassifies software development as R&D, thus has to be amortized over 5 years, rather than deducted as an expense. I don’t have the full picture yet, but apparently went into effect (or enforced?) in 2022. Luckily, only a few employees aren’t reimbursable as directs. But it looks like i’m for a mid-six figure tax bill and maybe same for last year. I’m still in “that cannot possibly be real” mode.

Small software operators are screwed. No cash. If you wonder why there so many layoffs in tech-now you know.

Reading stuff like this makes me mad. We need a VAT tax and do away with everything else.

They just refuse to see stuff like this.

Like clapping seals, they repeat the same stuff and pretend like Trump was totally blameless, and strangely enough, Powerless.

The President of the United States was powerless...and that's a plus? You don't hold that against him?

“These vaccines are saving lives. They are reducing mortality,” DeSantis said during a news conference in St. Petersburg. “I can tell you that we’re going to end up having over 95% of folks that end up seriously ill from this point on are going to be people who are not vaccinated. And so, that’s the single most important thing that people can understand.”

And then when the data came in, he adjusted. There should be criticism of his initial take, and vast praise for his adjustment once the data came in. There was no sunk cost fallacy. He himself has said he was wrong, and criticized himself for his initial take.

Trump has never adjusted and still calls himself the father of the vaccine.

The vaccine was not available to most of the general public into April.

Speaking of a year in...

we are now 3 years in. Where is Trump's adjustment? His mea culpa? Apology?

What's worse? Changing course a year in or never changing course?

Trump: I’m the father of the vaccine. We did everything right. I saved 100 million lives - gave a medal to fauci

DeSantis: reverses course on vaccines and opens grand jury investigation into it and wants to bring a reckoning to those who failed us
