You laugh, but if Trump went on national tv and said he needed within 48 hours 1,000,000 armed citizens in the Washington Mall to defend the Constitution, you'd have to walk the last ten miles in.

I won't totally disagree, but it really depends on whom they were asked to defend it against.

No clue if you're a vet but I am. I can tell you that military leadership would literally shoot on sight any soldier who followed an order from POTUS such as the one you propose.

If armed civilians stormed the capital, the United States military would be there to greet them. It'd be a suicide mission.

You sir are correct. Their would be millions upon millions of armed MAGA patriots side by side with the best military on earth directed ny Mad Dog Mattis to protect our duly elected POTUS and our country. Its past time to crush the deep state.

Is that the price of freedom? Die on your feet or live on your knees?

You are a vet, but wouldn't fight shoulder to shoulder with a civilian if the President asked me to? You'd treat me as the enemy?

And you think that's a good thing? I can't imagine you would have thought the same if Obama had done it. You need mental help.

So, no difference between Obama...and Trump. Obama put Dinesh D'Souza - Obama's most vocal, high profile and effective political critic - IN JAIL. Just like He "wiretapped" the Trump Campaign. But..."if the glove don't fit...gotta acquit"...I reckon.

Defend or deride...but this is the exactly the reason that people pick up the sword when dialogue become so corrupt that it is not merely ineffective and dysfunctional...but corrosive and an impetus toward violent redress of perceived injustice.

No better way to learn than the hard way.

frick sakes you people are scary. IF Congress were to impeach and convict Trump and remove him from office the military would do jack diddly to stop it, nor should they.

If evidence is presented to the American people that proves Trump has committed impeachable crimes even his supporters will stand down. On the other hand, if the Deep State concocts obvious BS to oust Trump it could get ugly.

Correct, I would not, and neither would any current soldier.

IF the President attempted a coup (and that's what it would be if a President refused to leave office when lawfully made to either through his term expiring or conviction of impeachment) and asked the military to assist him, that would be an illegal order and every member of the military would be duty bound to refuse it.

Sure there are some nuts who would not, and they would be arrested and charged under the UCMJ.

If ANY President attempts a coup he becomes an enemy of the country.

They get so defensive when you say that they're authoritarian and always walking that thin line between complete fascism and a citizen of a republic

Toddy, Dems were woke as frick when Dubya and Cheney were running things and always posting about deep state kinds of things. It's strange seeing them become authoritarians now.

Are you serious

This guy is not effective and damn sure not high profile. I'm guessing less than 10% of people in this country would know who he is.

And D'Souza pled guilty.

The problem is that the conservatives are tired of having /our/ guy bashed relentlessly for trival BS, with the DS hoping to get him out, to teach outsiders a lesson, while the last administration got away with murder by the tens of thousands.

It's not right.

You should probably stop using that term to describe your movement. It's not Conservative. Trump Nationalist would be more descriptive.
