Trump has himself to blame for Doug Jones, and Sessions.

Trump is just as much to blame for AL going Blue as Alabamians are for selecting Moore for their Republican candidate .
It all started with Trump selecting Sessions as AG. It didn’t take very long to understand that Sessions was the wrong person to be AG, had to recuse himself for the Trump/Russian investigation, he did not come out guns blazing to take down the Swamp.
Trump should have went with Rudy Giuliani or someone other than Sessions and left Sessions in the Senate, Sessions is a decent man but in the wrong job. Would have prevented last night from happening.
Not sure how long Sessions had to retreat back to the Senate but he should have took one for the team and told Trump, “ we have to hold AL, I’m out, but you still have my full MAGA support Mr. President!”

What it’s Alabama the thought of losing that seat back then when he picked Sessions probably never crossed anyone’s mind

I agree, Sessions has been a disaster for him. He’s a good, decent guy, but sometimes that’s not what you need...

But when he picked Sessions, he was under the same assumption that anybody would have. Another Republican would easily fill that seat for the remainder of Sessions' term. The Republican Alabama governor would appoint a Republican to take Sessions' place until a special election. And before all the Moore allegations came out after he won the GOP primary, NOBODY would've thought that the Dems had a chance to flip a seat in Alabama. Jones wouldn't have won without Moore being accused of sexual misconduct.

i agree. getting tired of all the bible thumping horseshite politics from some conservatives. i'm a christian, but these guys need to turn it down a notch with what they think the Almighty cares about. Jesus died for everyone and this has never been a godly nation. need to practice more grace and stop acting like God needs their help.

Sessions is a very good man. He has a lifetime of public service to prove that.
But Trump is politically naive and when he selected Sessions as AG, Trump wasn't aware of the extent of the political effort to impeach him and remove him from office. Trump's AG needed to be an energetic and savvy political warrior that would be like a bulldog for the Pro-Trump components of the Executive Branch. Sessions is nothing like that.

No, Sessions HAD to reuse himself from anything involving Russian interference in the 2016 election. Justice Department guidelines insisted on it. Just because democrats in the same department ignore that regulation doesn't mean Sessions should have.

As much as conservatives (myself included) give the DNC shite for nominating the worst possible candidate in Hillary we have one upped them and nominated Roy.
