Trump needs 80-90% of Republican likely voters and a solid amount of independents. He’s been trying to distance himself from the conservative wing for months now and by doing so alienating republicans even more than in 2015/16

I do think Trump should have just not said anything at all but I also understand it is a race and you keep your foot on the gas and don't give an inch.

Most of you just want any excuse you can muster to not vote for him just so you can say "See I told you Trump wouldn't beat Biden"

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess there are no present scenarios under which Trump would’ve said DeSantis beat Newsome.
If Trump was going to comment on it at all, of course he was going to say Gavin won, regardless of the actual outcome.
