If Kamala would have won they would have done the same thing to podcasters. Obviously podcasters don’t pay royalities for music but they would have came up with something to shut them down.. it’s the same concept. They want to protect the mainstream media outlets and silence independent podcasters and internet radio stations that play music

Of course you would have no problem with that at all. Never mind that now those same people that want free use of everything on their platforms also want free use of literally everything anywhere protected by any IP law. By free use they mean that they want to be able to use their AI to mine the information and use it for financial gain without compensating the original creators in any way. Oh, and they want this ability whilst still being able to vehemently defend their own intellectual properties.

No conflict of interest here......none at all.

I understand the concern, but demanding we "abide" by IP and let the world have access is not the answer either.

Travel the world a little. You see all those kids with the little mermaid mochillas, you think they bought them on line from the disney store? How about those nike sneakers they are wearing?

You mean Jewish? Both are fairly common Jewish names.

You're talking about billion dollar plus companies. I'm concerned for real people who rely on the protection of IP laws every day for a living. The tech giants are cutting the legs out from under every single one of them, and want to do so unfettered and unencumbered by law. Disney should be the least of anyone's concern in this scenario.

I love how the entirety of the tech industry is predicated on intellectual property rights being as important as actual property rights but right up until the moment they need to infringe on everyone else’s IP rights at globe spanning scale…then, but of course, that is just the cost of progress.
