The top boss doesn't do the firing of subordinates. There's a chain of command and power structure.

This. I’m the third in chain of command under the VP/president of the company I work for. I fire people managing or working under me. VP would fire me. Pres would fire VP.
VP can tell me to fire someone under me but he won’t fire them directly

Are you saying that Trump wouldnt call RR in and say "You are fired. Pack your shite and get out". Because our President is not like everyone else and if he thought that was the best call then he would do it and to Hell with the fall out.
That is is MO. He does stuff, leftists and the media explode. Trump laughs and moves on to the next thing. Then while the leftists are still complaining about whatever, he does something else to infuriate them and they forget about what they were doing and go after the new outrage.
Someone needs to shop Trump on to this and make the cat the left.
