The bad advice I think he’s gotten is to shelter everyone and not just the most at risk. We appear to be on the way to making the cure worse than the disease. I hope I’m wrong, but only time will tell.

I find it amazing that people think he and we have mishandled this.

I have seen multiple administrations in my lifetime (Nixon forward) and as far as crises go this one has been as well balanced as I have seen.

I’m pissed at the destruction of the economy, but if we get through this soon I think we will be Dow 26k plus early Q4.

If you would have told people to stay at home as late as the first week in March you would have got zero cooperation. People would have said WTF are you freaking out about.

And they would have put the conservative attack dogs on them.

Oh, they did when Rod Rosenstein's sister warned everyone in February.

I think he completely mishandled it, but I agree that the DOW will bounce back. We just pumped $3 trillion into it, of course it will go up. Unemployment on the other hand will be around 10%.

I get the point that your oversimplification just isn’t accurate. The more narrow and granular the advice, the more a leader should listen to it. As you go up the scale into making policy decisions based on that advice, the more responsibility shifts to the leader, but if you feed a person bad details at the lower level it’s pretty damned hard to make good, accurate decisions.

If all the President is capable of is to follow or dispense the advice of professionals, then why do we need Trump? Any old doofus like Biden might as well be President

Thank God he didn’t listen to the advise when he shut down travel from China despite the media and partisan backlash. Bottom line is that saved lives and he was called a racist, the standard response to most of his actions.

This doctor is not reliable. Went from not a threat to 2.2 dead to 100-200k. He has no clue and the administration has relied on his advice to set policy that is destroying our economy.

There has to be an economic advisor alongside the medical experts but the politicians are worried about that coming across as insensitive and how that might impact re-election. They are all trying to “out-care” each other and virtue signal while the vast majority of people are quietly suffering with their inability to pay rent, put food on the table, get medical care for non-covid conditions. It’s sad to see.

The dems and media are ready to launch an all out assault on Trump by twisting making things up to help Joe Biden

Why do we want to play this game of who was right and wrong, Trump started slow, he is getting better.

You can support someone and critique them. Going to our corners and fighting it out over every goddamn issue and looking at everything through the partisan lens has to slow the hell down.

You prove my point. What we want is the better or best Carnac. Not just a wooden Indian that is good at reading a teleprompter. Be a good thinker and don’t just regurgitate professional advice, granular or not.

Oh yeah. "Trump incompetence" "Trumpvirus" "Trump is incompetent" are going to the the MAJOR thrust of the propaganda effort against Trump. That much is clear.

This is a very momentous event that does have the potential to put the Dems in power in Nov - White House, House and Senate. It has potential.

We'll see a very quick acceleration towards socialism if that happens.

We'll see. Very interesting times. The Black Swan Event is upon us.

Holy shite. You’re digging in so hard to your position you actually think one has to be a psychic to make good decisions. I’m not sure how to break it to you, but psychics don’t really exist.

Oy vey! Think son. you don’t have to be a psychic to be able receive information, opinions and advice, sift thru the data, and come up with answers. Maybe you don’t believe in smart people with good common sense who are up to the task, but I do.

Everybody's a genius when they have
1. hindsight
2. no actual responsibility

I don't expect any leader to nail something like this; there are too many unknowns and accurate data is lagging the decisions that have to be made. What I mainly expect are reasonable decisions. I'm not going to sling arrows at the NO mayor for Mardis Gras for that reason. Was it the right decision, knowing what we know now? Absolutely not. Was it reasonable? Yes.

I don't see too many decisions made yet by Trump or the various governors (Michigan excepted) that were just stupid unreasonable. That doesn't mean they couldn't have done some things better, of course they could have. But it doesn't take any special insight to pick apart decisions after the fact. Any monkey can do that.
