Classic MSM tactic at play here. Always twist the words to make it seem WAY more dramatic than it was, while still halfway staying within the bounds of "truth".

Almost GUARANTEE it went something like this:

Reporter: What would you do if Trump gave you some crazy unlawful authoritarian order that you were personally against in his last days in office?

WH Official: I'd quit or refuse to take the orders before doing something unlawful or harmful for the country. He'd have to fire me.




Reporter: OFFICIALS PLAN TO DEFY TRUMP'S ORDERS IF THEY'RE UNLAWFUL OR HARMFUL TO THE COUNTRY, THEY PLAN TO FORCE TRUMP TO FIRE THEM!!
