I think it will largely come into play if a Republican wins 2028. I think the SC ruled on just the question of citizenship. There's multiple ways to get around that. Dem lawfare style.
If the census is accurate, and free of illegals in 2030, the Dems will probably lose the house for decades, along with gerrymandering by red states. Blue states can't really gereymander more than they have already.
It's their #1 issue that they don't talk about because they'd have to admit governing failure it Cali, illinois, NY.

Isn't this basically the point the admin is arguing. Appears they are not directly challenging the 14th Amendment, but are looking at the Census Act of 1790 and the "Usual Residence" law. Appears they are using the idea that they are subjected to deportation at any time; therefore, they lack the permanent political and legal allegiance required to be considered true "inhabitants". And that they status essentially makes them transient since they lack legal status to remain permanently.
