I'm in the industry, I've not heard a single driver even considering this. With the shortage of trucks nationwide right now there's no damn way I'd park a truck, drivers are doing very well right now.
If he's not adjusting his rates to make up for added cost of fuel/expenses then that's on him. As with all things any time operational cost go up that gets passed on the the customers. Between higher fuel cost, higher insurance, and a general shortage of drivers I've seen some of our lanes nearly double, and in some spots triple in cost.
