I think most of it stems from jealousy from the realization they will never be much more than they are right now. So that leads to the hate of the more successful. It’s just not fair a CEO makes that much!

He said he worked in radiology. Not that he’s a radiologist. He could be an imaging specialist for all I know and that’s a certificate you can earn online.

And I’m the CFO of Twitter.

People can say whatever they want online.

You’re wasting your time trying to disparage a stranger because he has a different opinion than you without having the balls to disclose your own irrelevant job.

They won’t answer because they don’t know. I’ve asked three times now.

100%

Ignorance and Jealousy.

most of us could become a nurse or teacher. The barriers to entry are low as frick.

Few of us could do this shite and carry this responsibility home every damn night.

Responsible for delivering the best quality of patient care

Leadership while creating a positive and productive culture
Setting an following standards for operational excellence
Hire and retain qualified staff

Implement clinical procedure and policy

Safeguard required compliance with State, Federal and CMS regulations as well as hospital policies

Develop a relationship with outside organizations, including the medical community, referring physicians, and the media

Deliver strong financial performance

Nurses go home and dont work. CEOs are always at work.

? So me saying that I wish the nurses he calls stupid could know he calls them stupid next time he needs them for care is now a death threat?

Let me guess, I’m literally Hitler.

The CEO has responsibility of every nurse, and ever doctor working in that hospital.

Bull

shite

In the healthcare arena I'm thinking you don't know jack shite.
There is a term called "span of control" meaning you can only manage directly a certain number of people. But the CEO does not have direct supervision over each and every person in the hospital, but he/she is definitely indirectly responsible for everything that goes on there. He/she won't get fired if housekeeping forgets to empty a trash can but he/she is still indirectly responsible.

Again, you don’t have a clue what a CEO even does. You couldn’t do the job, that much is clear.

A hospital can run for a long time without a CEO...how long can it run without nurses?

Comparing stress from an hourly job to a CEO..
You mean bedside care in an overworked critical setting? Right. There is no comparison.

What the frick do you think CEOs do?
You are the one comparing stress levels with folks at bedside in critical care. So it kind of begs the question, what do you think Hosp CEOs do ... albeit at 20-100X the salary of Critical Care RNs?

Actually they wouldn’t. I review medical records and emergency room records as part of my job. It’s not rocket science.

clearly the same thing is true for nurses, which is why there is a national nurse shortage.

There is an overall labor shortage right now which has been caused by a variety of factors. Most younger people are lazy and don’t want to work anymore, so as older workers retire, there is a smaller skilled labor pool. But many mediocre people are more than happy to work as nurses and have plenty of time off to enjoy their life. Most people aren’t wired to make the personal sacrifices high wage earners are willing to make.

No wonder so many people here are populists. They dont understand reality.

Even hospitals without a CEO have acting CEOs.

Jealousy is the motivator. Always has been. Jealousy also leads you to dark places like wishing nurses provide poor care to your political enemies.
