How much do you think someone like that should make?
Someone like that?
You mean a lawyer telling people completely outside his background and expertise how to do their job?

Someone like that should make a few hundred thousand ... little different than he'd make as a lawyer otherwise. Frankly, depending on details, that might be an overpayment in November's case.

Nurses are fairly easily replaced, CEOs not so much.
I hate to be disagreeable, but salary is determinative. $6M CEOs are far, far, far easier to replace than quality $100K RNs. For verification, one simply need look at the number of apps per position.

You leftist love saying this. Enlighten me. What I am missing that would warrant paying a nurse a 7-figure per year salary?

I’m not a “leftist” bc I recognize someone clearly ignorant. Nurses in the ER “don’t give a pill and send them home” lol. I also never said anything about what nurses should be paid.

This is the type of person who complains about the cost of healthcare and access to care insufficiency

Do you imagine unionized nurses make healthcare cheaper?

Don’t understand people who aren’t in unions get so angry with American workers who want organizing to collective bargain.

Because you broke the code of military justice. If I fail a piss test or show up drunk to work… I’ll get fired.
I know plenty of people who’ve been arrested in the military. They still made E-6 and e-7. Took a year or 2 longer.

Sounds like Ochsner is a crappy employer.

LCMC owns UMC. But Ochsner is no better and is possibly much worse.

OP undoubtedly wouldn’t make it in a field not protected by a government backed union.
I’ve literally never ever worked anywhere with a union. Ever. And I still don’t.

But thanks for the insight.

Do you think the CEO’s nearly $7 million compensation package does?

Yeah they take it as a personal affront. It’s very bizarre.

She's hanging on by a thread in the private sector. The only chance she has is government or a union protecting her.

I practice labor and employment litigation. I’ve sat through multiple union employee depositions where the employee flat out brags about being lazy or difficult to fire. So yeah, unions are not ideal. Especially when in the context of healthcare where a million things can go wrong.

Didn’t you go to Southern Law?

If an industry is heavily subsidized by the government I could see there being an interest in how they operate

We did bail out GM and a lot of their issues were due to pension packages that were not sustainable

It works great for trade unions. Construction trades.

I just cant understand why anyone else would want to have their value bound to the least common denominator.

At a relatively small # of privately held companies, true. Ochsner does not qualify as such

Name a single instance of a union improving things for the American consumer.

You can’t because it’s never happened.
