Wut? Iran is already massively sanctioned and weren't exactly rolling in imports already. This isn't a blockade and there is no need for one. Hell, the Iranians are self-blockading by shooting merchant vessels. The placement of the CVN's is tactical, not strategic. That's where they have to be to strike Iran (Arabian Sea) and protect allies/intercept missiles (the one in the Med).

The Bush is gearing up to deploy but I'm guessing that is to relieve the Ford, which has been deployed for like 9 months now. Nimitz is on her way to the breakers and Washington is in Japan. All of the others are in overhauls or dry dock.
