“I don’t know what Mueller was supposed to do other than what he did. When a prosecutor comes in contact with information or evidence of a crime, what are you supposed to do, other than refer to the appropriate jurisdiction?”
The real question Gowdy needs to ask is what was Muller investigating that lead him to Cohen's office? Supposedly Muller interviewed stormy and/or her lawyer. What did she and her lawyer have to do with Russia collusion or obstruction of Justice? Neither should have been interviewed for this investigation.

“As for Rod Rosenstein, I don’t see a basis for firing him and his handling of this probe,” Gowdy said.
Gowdy has gone off the deep end. He must be submerged in the Swamp.
Gowdy knows the dossier IS fake, he knows there was a Nobama/Clinton connection used to setup all meetings between a Russian and Trump campaign members, and he knows there was absolutely no collision between Trump and Russia for anything.

Any honest upstanding person would say the investigation is over. Nunes knows there isn't collusion, so he wisely stopped the nonsensical investigation.
Gowdy should be saying, "Stop wasting taxpayer money."

Can't we just wait and see what the report says and what charges are filed? If crimes were committed then justice is being done.

Sure. But how long does the investigation go on? 4 years? 8 years?

Gowdy has lost his credibility and resembles Low-T Lindsey, more and more each day.

And he's departing Congress at an interesting time.

There's something dirty with him. He's always been an all bark and no bite type of guy but many people were hoping there would be some bite in there somewhere.

He needs to just stop talking and go away.

I don't claim to know enough about this situation to develop a meaningful opinion. Waiting to see what happens and what details were on the warrant is probably the best avenue

The way they are going about this "investigation," is contrary to law enforcement and judicial protocol. Usually there is a crime discovered and they look for evidence to make charges. Here they are looking for evidence of a crime. Hell might as well just have full time crime seekers. Only those bastard POS on the left could get away with that.

Gowdy sounds like he wants Democratic votes in some appointment in the future, maybe Supreme Court?

He didn't defend the tactics of the raid. He just agreed that Mueller was correct in referring the matter to the federal prosecutor in New York. How they handled the investigative process was left to them. It could have been handled differently, the way Hilary Clinton and her cohorts were handled.

The special counsel? I've seen nothing to suggest they are dragging their feet. I would imagine we get something in the near future. That said, it's a matter of grave public interest and there really isn't any non-political interest in fast tracking it. They appear to be building a case.

The whole point of the sham is to enable leftists to say Trump is "under investigation". By all means let's set up our justice system so that it can investigate without any crime being specified at the start so it can go on however long is politically expedient.

None of the Stormy stuff should matter anyway as it relates to the president, Trump has already professed his complete innocence in not only having knowledge of the hush money but having any sexual relations to begin with.

What case are they building that would require interviewing a porn star or raiding a lawyer that admitted to paying her money to be quiet which is not a crime?
What evidence of a crime did they have prior to the raid?
They had no evidence. They claim the raid was based on fraud, possibly tax evasion or whatever. Interviewing a porn star would not reveal any evidence for any of these claims.
This investigation is pitiful. The fact that it is still ongoing proves that the USA we knew prior to nobama is over. There was the pre-obama USA and the post-obama USA. The post-obama USA makes up false allegations towards a sitting prez that they do not like, and they get a SC to investigate during the entire presidency until he is removed from office of loses the next election.
How are Americans ok with this continuing? It is unbelievable.

Gowdy is working hard for that post Congress gig.

I wouldn't be surprised if he turns into another Scarborough in 5 or 10 years.

I haven't seen Trey in years but he has changed an awful lot if he goes that route. I knew him rather well and tried dozens of cases against him in Federal and State court and back then it was always clear being a SC SCJ was his long term plan which also included the foray into politics.

Agreed. What evidence did they have to invade the lawyer's office?
Only thing they might have is some guy named Nader claimed Cohen had a meeting with Russians in Prague. Cohen showed his passport to authorities proving he wasn't ever at Prague, and Cohen has said he has never been to Prague.
So it is Nader's word against Cohen. If Muller decides to "believe" Nader over Cohen, then Cohen will be charged with lying to the FBI.
The interesting part is that Nader is being represented by Obama's lawyer KR. KR worked with Weissman on the Enron debacle. Muller chose Weissman and KR to be lawyers on the Enron investigation. This has Weissman's poor tactics written all over it. Muller, Weissman, and R-stein should ALL be fired over this. Muller and Weissman should go to jail for this invasion. They have no evidence, but seem to have talked a witness into making up a story.

Well the Trump appointee that authorized the warrant seems to disagree with you. And you are still blaming Obama?

I was being sarcastic, anyone left that still believes the entire Stormy thing was fabricated and that Trump did not have an affair has been so deeply lost in Trump Fantasyland that even an Inception-level rescue attempt of their reasoning faculties has been ruled out.

Gowdy as a former prosecutor is fond of strong arm tactics used to gain evidence. He's protecting his kind.
