I tend to follow La politics more closely (and Baton Rouge too, since I live here).
If there is an active federal legislative push, I love diving into that too, but I don't see any right now. There are some detailed tax reform, proposal but no actual bills.

Why would anyone want to do this when you can talk about football players taking a knee during the national anthem, or the latest on Hillary and her balance issues. You don't think that the "issues" surrounding Cosmic Pizza are important?

there really isn't much detail here. There is more than the outline, but it isn't particularly detailed. Its 9 pages of what taxes will be eliminated, or curtailed but not really how it is going to be paid for.

There is a big budget vote this week, which there are no threads on.

You don't start threads because doing so wouldn't allow you to wait until you'd gauged the general response on the board so that you could take a contrarian position.
quote:Well according to my research, I have started 11 political topic threads (one from the close election board), with 152 upvotes and 51 downvotes.
If you started a thread, you might accidentally start one that most of the board agreed with and ya can't have that.
Problem is that only like 2 of them made it past 2 pages, and the only one to make it past 3 pages had 8 upvotes to 27 downvotes. So 144 upvotes to 24 downvotes in the 10 threads, and like 90% don't make it to a third page and 60% don't even make it to a second page.
So clearly I don't start very good threads if I can't get any discussion.

Well, I guess it's relative. It's more detailed than "Everyone is going to have health insurance and it's gonna be great," but I take your meaning.

So, start a topic... I am certain you will get plenty of the partisan back and forth, "smart" comments, etc but you might also get some discussion... You will just have to weed through it...
