This is exactly how the founders intended our government to be ran. By the people, for the people. Not by some ruling political class.

A couple of those summits didn’t turn out great.
Yalta saw Stalin eventually walk all over his agreements regarding Poland and many other countries that ended up in the Eastern Bloc.
The summit between Khrushchev and Kennedy led Khrushchev to believe Kennedy was weak and resulted in the Cuban Missle Crisis.
I’m cautiously optimistic as to the Trump-Kim summit.

You may think of this as an insult, but it isn’t: he’s Nixon come again. This is a “Nixon goes to China” moment. No one can have any doubt where Trump stands with North Korea, and he of all people may be the one uniquely qualified to solve it. Nixon going to China was a Top 10 on best acts of a President, and while this is smaller version of it, let’s hope history here goes the same way.

Reagan's summit with Gorbachev led to the eventual downfall of the Soviet Union. That changed global Geopolitics forever as much as Nixon opening China up did.
As to Trump-Kim, it isn't all that crazy to think a reunified Korea could eventually happen down the road and that is the worst case scenario for Russia and China in this deal.

I’d also give that a Top 10, but the Soviet Union was fricked when he was doing this. China wasn’t. If they were to meet at a dire time, it probably would have been shortly after the Great Leap Forward. Nixon visited 10 years after that. Also keep in mind that Nixon in the long term was so successful that if we ever go to war with Russia for the foreseeable future, China will most certainly fight on our side. I think that was more important than anything Reagan did.
