Time to make e-verify mandatory for all states

These are the states that mandate it for private employers.
For the rest it is voluntary. Making it mandatory would influence illegals to go elsewhere.
Alabama
Arizona
Florida
Georgia
Louisiana
Mississippi
North Carolina
South Carolina
Tennessee
Utah
Interesting Texas does not mandate e-verify for private employers only public employers.

Texas is ran by money and democrats.
They want the cheap labor.

It is stupid and foolish to mandate a federal system (e verify) to fix a problem caused by the federal government (immigration and border security). Wake up. Your poor excuse for a solution is what the deep state wants.

Alabama & Florida are covered in illegals working... Must not work very well..

It makes it harder but doesn really stop it.
All they need is a real number and they are hired.
They can get that from a cousin.
Or when they fast-track hundreds of thousands of work visas and give them all a tx id numbers it doesn't matter, they will verify.

A friend of mine is a roofing contractor in DFW. All he has to do is submit a SSN for any employee. At the end of the year, the Fed Govt kicks back the fake ones. So he just submits new fake ones for the same employees. He receives no fines or anything, and doesn't even have to let go of the guys giving him fake numbers. It's a sham.

Dam I should have figured. Does he take taxes from their wages?

E-Verify doesn't work.

They "say" they are against illegals, but really they get rich by using them for labor instead of American workers at a liveable wage.

I wasn’t suggesting that the reeds mandate it on states. I’m suggesting that all states should make it mandatory for that state. The states on my list that made it mandatory did so on their own. People should move their states to enact and enforce a law saying you must verify that an employee is a lawful citizen via verifiable sources and enact severe penalties for those who do not follow it or cheat. Just like many rules.

True. They buy fake TWIC cards and work in plants.

quote:correct. I'm amazed at all the company vehicles driven by illegals. I'm talking about real companies too, not companies owned by themselves or other immigrants. I would think they would be scared to death of lawsuits.

So more paperwork for an already over loaded business owner? Place the responsibility of fixing a problem on the business owner that the government has created? Obviously you’ve never owned a business with actual employees. There is enough to keep up with, without doing for the government what our tax dollars are already allocated to do.

Because every cleaning service and half of the restaurants and construction companies would shut down.

I'm pretty sure he lists them as 1099 "subcontractors" instead of actual employees.

Then he is violating the law and by not paying 941 tax he is personally liable. Can’t bankrupt it either.

We also need to let employers deny employment based on the results and not letting these people seek appeal after being employed.

I know a good friend who goes the paperwork to get LEGAL foreign workers. HB-1 or 2 workers. lot harder than everify. He also pays their transportation to US and pays them more than minimum wage and he says they still are a better deal than American born young workers who don’t show up or are full of drugs or just are lazy. When the season is over they go home. Never any problems.
