Can't believe this didn't get an ashtray thrown at whoever came up with that designation.

Well K is for the US and Lit for Little Rock- it's pretty simple how it came about.

It was too hard to have an airport code for cankles, yeast, seizures or colostomy bag, so they settled on KLIT.

KLIT has been ICAO's designator for years
KRAP is Rapid City's designator
The official FAA designator is the 3 letter ID. ICAO makes them add the K as the US international designator.
