TIL John Bolton returned Justice Thomas's wallet @Yale & they became lifelong friends

John Bolton first stole Thomas's wallet, then returned it.

I heard he left a note in his wallet that read, "we need to bomb the frick out of Vietnam."

Justice Thomas gives a lot of credit to Bolton for his conversion from being an angry leftist. Bolton told him “why would you blindly trust the same government that enslaved your ancestors?” (I’m paraphrasing it) They were roommates at some point IIRC. Prominent in Thomas’ autobiography.
