The problem I have with the campaign is that it doesn’t present the gospel. It essentially reduces Jesus to a moral teacher that can sympathize with our struggles while ignoring His divinity and the salvation He brings to sinners.

Jesus came to save souls, not to give everyone their best life now. The campaign is shallow and doesn’t present a full picture of what is needed for salvation, potentially making Christianity nothing more than feel-good moralism.

I generally agree with those messages I have seen but I have not looked into who or what is behind them. I am more interested in the concept of Grace myself. I am a Christian and a very poor one. Faith is belief and belief is faith. Its in us all I believe given when we became not of the animal but sentient. Some just chose to bury it. I can understand all beliefs and the doubters but one...the atheist.

Based off of your comments, it’s seems your focus is on the church and not on the creator of the church. What it all comes down to is your personal relationship with him. Which by your comments, you don’t have one. Not saying that in a derogatory way, but what do you do to find out more about him? Yes, scripture tells us to forsake not the assembling of ourselves together. We do that to exhort, to edify, and to encourage one another in the faith. Doesn’t matter what denomination you are, it’s your personal walk with him that matters above all else. Living as a Christian makes me want to be a better person and loving others as Christ loves us. Do I fail? Absolutely, fussing at drivers that don’t drive like I think they should lol. Showing more kindness at times when I don’t. It’s these things that hinder me from being better. But it’s a daily walk, like a marathon instead of a 100 yard sprint. The Bible is an amazing book, that will give you an answer to any question you may have about who Jesus was, is, and will be.

Jesus loves the sinner but hates the sin. So no, he don’t get it as this bunch says. It’s not okay to live in sin and expect to live eternity in heaven. I’m a sinner and I pray for forgiveness every day. I excepted Jesus Christ as my lord and savior at the age of twenty. America hating progressives leftists loons make me cuss.

My take is that these ads were from progressive leftist effs that were trying to get the Christian vote. If we don't see any more of these ads in the next few weeks - well that will confirm they were a political tactic

BTW leftists - we have you all figured out - and get the eff ready for MAJOR changes. .

They are wolves in sheep's clothing deflecting people away from the gospel. Jesus loves us enough to tell us the truth because He is the TRUTH!

Watch this one-minute video. Jesus gets us and saves us.

Jesus does get us. He made us then came to be incarnated like us. That is the point of Christmas. And he does love those we “hate” and he calls us to love like He does - sacrificially. But He always calls away from sin. Because ultimately sin kills us in this life and the next. Just look at the massive suffering in this world. That isn’t God inflicted. It is self inflicted. It is your and my selfishness that brings death into this world.

If one starts with does God exist and really contemplate the metaphysical evidence from the Greeks to Paul to Aquinas. One will eventually end up with Jesus and realize how much we need this triune God who is a perfect union of love and so merciful and loving that he wants to share his infinite perfect love with a free will creation created in his likeness. He does not have to or need to but he wants to.

At that point it becomes almost impossible to resist and refuse that love. Plus He understands how difficult it is for us to cast aside sin so He gave us sacramental gifts to tap into his mercy love and graces daily.

That is the faith you say you grew up with. I did not but chose it late in life after living and suffering in this life and asking the tough questions while at a point I was ready to accept what I did not expect.

Blessings to you.

Do you know that the Bible says that all have sinned, and fall short of God’s glory? No one is born good by God’s standard, we are all sinners and deserve eternal punishment?

Whenever I have questions like these, I find it best to turn to The Word.

I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! 16So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.

-Revelation 3:15-16

Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household. 37Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

-Matthew 10:34-39

Jesus wasn't a hippie. He is the same God that judges, destroys, casts out, annihilates, and yes... loves.

I don't see myself as an atheist at all. Just an agnostic who does appreciate Christianity. I do believe in a higher power.

I think trying to get Christianity across in 30 second ads leaves things way too open to false interpretations in either direction and are therefore, more harm than good.

Oversimplification of complex ideology is dangerous
