I think you're right, re: military technology. I believe we still have a substantial edge there. However, with regards to missile technology, as I'm sure some famous dead general said:

Fires without maneuver is indecisive (and maneuver without fires is suicide).

I hope you are being sarcastic. This country grows weaker by the day. There was a poll out recently that said half the men in their 20s weren't even trying to date women anymore. They were too scared.

I doubt we would pussy foot around with the Chinese or Russians. The only reason why we’ve pussy footed around is for “humanitarian” reasons. That’s why we couldn’t beat the Vietnamese or wipe out the Taliban, because we would have had to kill a lot of people to do that, and that’s something the leader of the free world can’t do. We would have had to go scorched earth which we were more than capable of doing, just not willing to do it on those enemies. The Chinese or Russians, I don’t think we’d hold back at all.

We haven't had the best military since Clinton took over adn gutted the military to "balance" his budget.

We have more of all the outdated equipment than anyone else, but we no long have the best equipment technology.

See Clinton wasn't big on the military

Bush used up a tremendous amount of military resources.

Obama hated the military.

Trump saw the problem with the woeful state of the military but didn't have a chance to do much about it.

Biden thinks the military should be drag queen story hour.

China has been stealing our technology for decades (and Clinton even gave them a lot of it in the early years) and they have quietly built the largest Navy in the world. Best? don't know yet as they haven't used it yet.

I'm not sure what to think about Russia mainly because I'm not sure about how much of the MSM's depiction of this Russia/Ukraine conflict is real and how much is Hollywood.

But they're not looking too good right now.

But we have a few tricks up our sleeve but make no mistake this isn't your dads or grandads military.

You willing to take a lower quality of life to save a few bucks? Make that same trade for your grandchildren?
