He never voted against border security.
@Grok, is this true?

**Fact check:** Rep. Massie was the only Republican to vote against the Jan 2026 DHS funding bill, which included billions for ICE.

If only we had the wisdom of powermullah. What a dipshit world this would be

@Grok, was that the only time Massie voted against border security?
quote:
In 2023, he was one of two Republicans voting no on a GOP border bill that included wall construction, remain-in-Mexico, asylum changes, etc.

Shocking for such a principled statesman

Dig deeper.
This is the problem w/ those massive bills. All kinds of crap in there, intentionally, so it can be used just like you used it.
Why couldn't a stand alone bill on funding immigration be brought? He didn't vote against immigration enforcement. He voted against all the other schit in that bill.
ETA; About the bill you're talking about. Massie explicitly opposed the provision requiring all U.S. employers to use the federal E-Verify system (an electronic database check) to confirm new hires' work eligibility. In his own words on the day of the vote (May 11, 2023):“FACT: National E-verify assumes every American is an illegal immigrant unless their identity can be matched to a government database. I will vote against it today.”

Before his election, EVERYONE on Trump's side thought actual real cuts would be made.
I'd love to see some real cuts. Unfortunately Congress is in charge of that, not Trump. Hence all the incumbents being primaried. How did those DOGE cuts go?? How about every layoff & cut being obstructed by Boasberg & company??

all he had to do was drop his principles
Again with the strawmen. Keep blaming dRumPf

This folks is what we call mental gymnastics.

Massie is the one guy who votes against more spending. Trump Firsters want that kind of guy out of office. Trump himself pushed like hell for the BBB, Bigdawg.
It's not a strawman at all, bud. Massie has been against foreign interventionalist, for declaring wars through congress, for slashing spending his entire time in office. All he had to do to win is drop all of those principles and he'd have won today.
I'm not blaming Trump. I'm blaming Trump Firsters.

No, it isn't.
"We'll get rid of some illegals, but we're going to suspect every American worker is a criminal to do it". You support that kind of shite?

His constituents are stoopid they left the hero!

Nah, I support what ICE has been doing with the money Massie refused to approve when he voted against the Big Beautiful Law.
Posted on 5/19/26 at 10:46 pm to idlewatcher
Hes probably already been offered a featured spot on the view until trump leaves office.

People have been disappointed by Trump's platform being held up by Congress & Massie has been front & center. People are tired of "principled" republicans sitting on their arse achieving nothing while they wait out the clock until midterms.

Thomas Massie is a public representative. His principles no longer reflect the will of the people, and he has been primaried. Frankly he's sucked eggs here lately, which is why I keep saying that he's living off of his past

Right. They want more government.

Right, so did Massie change or did the voters' "principles" change?
I think we both know the answer, so the real question is "what got the voters' principles to change"?
It's ok to admit that once Trump said that the Epstein files are a hoax and that war in Iran is a good, necessary thing that those voters all of a sudden changed their minds. I mean, everyone knows that's what happened.

You people are so fricking stupid. Here let me help since this is apparently rocket science for you retards. In order of importance:
1) Immigration enforcement
Everything else. Zero principles have changed, you've just incorrectly been assuming my priorities. Massie himself knew this was a big risk, he miscalculated by a lot. But at least he realized this was a possible scenario, you're just a dumb arse.
Solved that riddle for you

He's FOR immigration enforcement. God damn.
Problem is that you guys don't seem to recognize all the other shite slammed into those bills makes society WORSE off.
Trump loves spending. LOVES it. Now, so do Trump firsters.
Why not just have single issue bills? What was stopping Republicans and Trump from pursuing that?

you're still doing it. If you deny me #1 on my list because of e-verify, you've miscalculated. This is where you find yourself right now

Which bill are we talking about?
The BBB added hundreds of billions to the debt.
