What was stopping Republicans and Trump from pursuing that?

Massie is a Republican. He couldn't successfully build a coalition that mattered when it cane time to vote. 0 of his one item bills cane to fruition.

This is a non topic.

Correct, because Republicans have been big government types since Hoover.

YOURE STILL DOING IT. How is this so difficult for you to comprehend?

You can list off as many things that you want to. Big govt, Iran, debt, single issue bills. It's irrelevant. Give me a giant fricking swimming pool or get out.

You incorrectly assumed those things would justify refusing to meet my #1 priority - you're fired

"Massie's voting record on immigration has drawn immense backlash from his own party leadership. Critics argue his votes undermine conservative efforts to secure the border. Massie defends his record by stating he supports strong border security, but will consistently vote against any bill that compromises the civil liberties of U.S. citizens or expands the reach of the federal government"

Come on guys you gotta believe me, I totally support that one thing you keep talking about as being really important to you, but e-verify....

Just keep pretending Massie was an open borders communist.

Key Votes and Actions in Favor of Immigration ControlShut Down Sanctuary Policies Act of 2026 (H.R. 7640): Voted yes in House Judiciary Committee. The bill prohibits state/local restrictions on cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, strengthens detainers, and penalizes sanctuary jurisdictions. Massie stated it protects local law enforcement assisting ICE and combats lawlessness.

Stopping DACA Expansion (H.R. 5272, 2014): Voted yes. Blocked Obama-era expansion of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which he argued encouraged more illegal immigration.

Border Wall Funding (FY 2019 Appropriations, e.g., H.R. 695): Voted yes to provide over $5 billion for Trump’s border wall construction. He has co-sponsored measures like the Close Biden’s Open Border Act (H.R. 164, 2023) seeking $15 billion for wall funding.

You're an absolute fricking idiot. You used HIS OWN QUOTE about e-verify earlier as justification for voting no, then, he says he will continue to do so. Did it happen? Did this happen in real life? If you answer yes to this question, I do not care about anything else he's done. Pause and let this get through your thick skull

The only one pretending is you - who desperately needs to believe that people are changing their principles on command. It is abundantly clear you need this coping mechanism. I couldn't explain this more simply

Yes, he voted against it because of civil liberty concerns. You keep insinuating he's against immigration control. He isn't. He weighs the concerns for OUR RIGHTS as well as considers immigration policies.

There is no coping mechanism going on here. My guess is you support the "Patriot Act", because there was some good stuff in it. Not trying to change the subject. I'm trying to show how YOU are totally fine w/ stomping on more of our rights because something was shoved into a bill that had some good things in it.

We just don't see eye to eye on this. I'm for protecting our rights along w/ getting rid of illegals, just like Massie. You, however, are ok w/ our rights being further eroded so long as some illegals get kicked out. I know exactly what you're trying to say, but you don't like the way I'm framing it, which is the correct way.

You get the last word.

Lol. 9 posts later of me ramming this directly down your throat and now its YOU showing me. Whatever, that's fine. Thank you for showing me.

Hopefully next time you want to frame it as people shifting their principles around on command, you'll remember this lesson you taught me.

Btw, out of curiosity I looked up the predicted stats on how many legitimate authorized to work in the US individuals would be denied due to e-verify mistakes/human data entry error and they estimated around 30k per year (which is an insanely low percentage) if every single employer was using it. I accept these terms and risks when facing a previous administration that wanted to flow 30 million illegals in here, and a democrat party literally instructing people to fight you in the streets if you want to send them home.

Your rights will be eroded exponentially quicker by that number and those policies.

You think a Democrat lost and that's the reason for this discussion?
